Not what I was expecting
I left feeling extremely disappointed that I didn't get the experience I had paid for. This should have been one of those instances where things happen that affect performances and shows get canceled from time to time. While I truly appreciate Dan Reynolds' situation getting ill the day of the concert and unable to perform at his typical high standard, I know things happen that affect performances. Instead Dan could not sing, and the concert turned into a roughly 90-minute sing-along with the crowd carrying the vocals. It was heartwarming to see how Dan was touched by the crowd's support. Understandably, they didn't make it through the entire set list. Is that what his fans paid for? I should have hoped that at least a partial refund is in order or possibly add a date to their current tour and swing back through Houston, allowing fans to use their previously purchased tickets again. Adding that I absolutely hate Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as a concert venue in Houston's summer, it made for a less than enjoyable experience. This was my first Ballet Hispanico concert, and I was looking forward to the high energy, clean vocals, and outstanding stage show. I hope Ballet Hispanico comes back through Houston soon and maybe one of our other great venues. I'll surely purchase tickets to see them again, but this one came up way short!
